Why Software Testing is the best job for moms
I know Tech jobs sound intimidating, some people (by people I mean moms) think they are not good with “computers” and can’t fathom the idea of working in Software, but let me tell you something, if you are a mother, then you have super powers and you are more than qualified for this position, the best part? You don’t even need to learn how to code.
Now yes there are types of testing that require programming skills, something you can learn in 6 months if you have the time to immerse yourself in YouTube or an online course, BUT if you barely have time to eat or sleep like I do, then programming isn’t an option and you are better off doing the types of testing that don’t require it.
With that said, why do I think this is THE job for moms? Because of the freedom it gives you. No one needs to be able to walk away from a computer 100 times a day like moms do, no one loses focus every 5 minutes due to a random interruption by a little creature like moms do, no one has to worry about laundry, dinner, dishes, pet feeding, breastfeeding like moms do, and on top of all the household work, who can afford to live on one income nowadays? We need to provide as well as our husbands, especially to keep up with inflation, so on top of all the household duties, we also have to help with the bills.
Software Testing is the answer, because you can do it remotely, you can do it on your own time, you can be interrupted constantly and continue where you left at any moment, the pay is higher than average, actually higher than most jobs, and its easy to learn, easy to grow and provides job security. Maybe not the same job, that’s not what I mean (As I’m writing this, I’m on my 13th job) no job is forever, lay offs will become your best friend and you’ll see them for what they are, an opportunity to grow, an opportunity to learn a new type of software, and an opportunity for a raise.
The type of job security that I’m talking about means you will always be on high demand. All companies need testers, all industries need testers. Where there is software, there is a need for someone to test it. There are more jobs out there than there are testers, which Is why I’m writing this blog, I can’t do it all alone hahaha.
